Cinnamon the hedgehog takes a risk and breaks a rule to search for joy
NEW YORK, Sept. 26, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Inspired by the civil rights movement during the 2020 quarantine, longtime friends and coauthors Alli Caudle and Susan Paroff created "Cinnamon," a hedgehog who learns to make positive changes without causing havoc.
In "Cinnamon Goes Over the Edge," Cinnamon escapes her home with its strict rules and laws, and heads out on an adventure to find a true friend. As she navigates a series of challenges and wild characters, she overcomes her fears and finds strength in herself. By the end, Cinnamon discovers that, when she harnesses the power of her own authenticity, she can embrace change with ease. Each small step makes a big difference, and Cinnamon shows everyone how to come together and dance.
"We wrote Cinnamon in 2020, during the pandemic," said Caudle. "It was our medicine to channel this cheeky little hedgehog that just wanted to sing, and dance, and play in a world with rigid rules! We thought we could all relate during that time, and especially use this as a tool to assist children in processing the pandemic and how to embrace your authentic self for a powerful impact of positivity and wellbeing in the world."
"Cinnamon Goes Over the Edge" is written in a fun rhyming scheme and filled with illustrations of its colorful characters. It's also available on iTunes and Audible as a perfect accompaniment to any car ride with children. Produced and read by Paroff, she even created a catchy song at the end.
"We've been writing partners for over a decade, and we still have so much fun working together," said Caudle. "We want this book to bring joy, laughter and music to households and classrooms everywhere."
