CAMBRIDGE, England, Jan. 11, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Katie Louise Miller wanted to tell her story and add to a new genre of transgender storytelling which seeks to help others going through what she went through, to help them, and those closest to them, understand why they feel the way they do and provide them with hope for the future. It is for these reasons she has written "Night and Day" (published by AuthorHouse UK), the story of a transgender woman's journey of transition as she learned to live a life without regret and accept her true self; moving from night to day.
At the tender age of 6, Miller knew precisely the path she wanted to take, even if it meant challenging societal norms. Unfortunately, she had no idea that life's idiosyncrasies and unexpected challenges would throw everything into turmoil from that point forward. In a candid retelling of her journey through gender dysphoria and a decision that changed her life forever, Miller discloses the trials and tribulations, the extreme highs and lows, the hurdles she encountered, the moments she marveled at, and the choices she made or did not make, and the subsequent consequences as she walked down an often obstacle-lined path to realize her true identity.
"I hope my story will open the readers' eyes, hearts and minds to the plight of people like me; 'guys' who start their transition to become girls later in life, putting their responsibilities as a husband and father before their own needs. I may be part of a generation of transsexuals that will soon 'die out,' given that pubescent boys and girls today wanting to change their sex can do so, supported by their parents, by schools and colleges and by their doctors who are able to stall puberty, prescribe HRT medication and organize gender-affirming surgeries. They don't know the half of what it was like for people like me in our teens, feeling the way they are feeling but very much on our own," Miller says.
When asked what she wants readers to take away from her book, Miller answers, "I want them to know and understand that being transgender, being a transsexual person is not about sexual gratification. It is about having congruence between how they feel about themselves and what they see in the mirror. For me, it has been a very difficult journey. It has taken a lot of time, a lot of heartache and it will take a lot of money to even get close to such congruence, with no guarantees of sexual gratification! I have nothing against the LGBTQ community, but I will not be flying a rainbow flag. I am and, post-op, I will be a heterosexual woman."
