New Business Aims to Help the More than 60 Percent of Older Americans Living Alone

That's why Scott and Terri Dingfield have launched TruBlue Total House Care in West Omaha.
According to Harvard University's Joint Center for Housing Studies, of the nearly 50 million Americans age 65 and above, almost 80 percent own their own home, more than 40 percent live alone, which increases to 60 percent for adults age 80 and older. Dingfield says those numbers outline a need for companies who can help take care of the entire home – from cleaning to handyman repairs to emergency repairs – to help people stay safely and comfortable in their own homes.
"Ever since Baby Boomers began turning 65 in 2011, there's been a lot of media attention around 'how are we going to care for all these people,'" Scott Dingfield said.
