WASHINGTON, Aug. 6, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- David Ferrie was the first person arrested for conspiring to murder President Kennedy. Though set free just days after this history-changing event, he came under sharper suspicion three years later but died suspiciously before being rearrested for the same crime. In a new historical novel, "A Ferrie Tale" (published by Archway Publishing), author David T. Beddow paints an in-depth picture of the life of David Ferrie, described by the New Orleans district attorney as "one of history's most important individuals."
Beddow pieces together facts and plausible speculations to flesh out David Ferrie's tangled path on Earth as a pilot, scientist, Catholic priest, Castro fighter and agent of the mob. Beddow's debut novel features an eclectic cast of historical figures, including Lee Harvey Oswald, Jack Ruby, Frank Sinatra, and JFK's paramour Judith Campbell. A sophisticated Cuban exile named Sergio Arcacha Smith plays a surprising role. The magical city of New Orleans provides the drumbeat to the story.
Beddow provides an alternative perspective on the assassination of the president, including the identification of hard facts that lend additional credibility to the likelihood there was a conspiracy. "A Ferrie Tale" will capture the attention of lovers of historical fiction, JFK buffs, and new generations unfamiliar with the historical day of November 22, 1963.
