New ParentSquare Contact Management Feature Gives Parents Control of Critical Contact Information
Pure Contact functionality helps ensure parent/guardian contact details are correct and current, while reducing effort and hassle for school and district staff
SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Jan. 14, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ParentSquare Inc., provider of the premier unified school-to-home engagement platform for K-12, has announced a unique new feature to help schools ensure the accuracy of important contact information with less work, while increasing convenience and choice for parents and guardians.
Maintaining parent contact information is an ongoing challenge for schools—but is vital for reaching families in the event of an emergency and for important day-to-day communications. Typically, parent contact details come from student information systems, but those systems were never designed with communications as a core function.
As contact details change during or across school years, reality and what's listed in school databases and communications tools can get out of sync. It's even more complicated for parents who have multiple students in one or more schools. And in all cases, student privacy and data integrity have to be kept at the forefront, both in terms of who is authorized to see the contact information and who can validate it.
ParentSquare has built on its industry-leading integration capabilities to help solve the problems created by multiple sets of contact details for parents while keeping the data private and secure. The ParentSquare Pure Contact feature makes it possible for multiple email addresses and phone numbers—including any shared with other family members—to all be part of one ParentSquare login account that contains all of a family's related students and schools.
Parents see all of the contact details that schools have for them, are able to confirm and verify the information, and select a preferred primary email and phone. If something is wrong (including any emails or phone numbers with typos), parents can notify schools with a click. Parents are then able to always log in to ParentSquare with any email address or phone number tied to their account, simplifying the process.
Before, parents could have had multiple accounts if they provided different contact information for each of their children, or had inconsistent contact details. Now, all of that contact information is consolidated into a single parent or guardian account—even across districts.
Pure Contact benefits schools and districts as well, giving them higher confidence that parent contact information is correct, consistent and current. School employees who are also parents no longer have to maintain two separate accounts in ParentSquare, since their multiple work and personal contact details can be combined into a single account with a single login. Plus, administrators can use reports from ParentSquare to update contact data in their student information system or other school databases.
"We're excited to announce this improvement to our core platform based on feedback from schools. We've often heard that bad parent contact information is a headache, whether it's a simple typo or something that's outdated," said Sohit Wadhwa, CEO of ParentSquare. "With all related contact information together, parents are able to privately and securely confirm that what a school has is accurate—while improving their ParentSquare experience with a single login."
ParentSquare Pure Contact is currently in initial release with a select number of ParentSquare customers, and will be broadly available to all customers towards the end of Q1 2021. For more information, please visit http://www.parentsquare.com/pure-contact.
