New Research Into the Indicators Of Distress In Charter Schools Could Mean Earlier Identification of Struggling Schools: Natl Charter School Resource Center
"Identifying Indicators of Distress in Charter Schools Part 1: The Role and Perspective of Charter School Authorizers," a new publication from the National Charter School Resource Center, labels and categorizes the indicators of distress that charter school authorizers encounter as school quality declines. The report can help charter school stakeholders recognize the signs of distress in schools and take action to achieve school improvement in their unique contexts.
BETHESDA, Md., Oct. 20, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- "Identifying Indicators of Distress in Charter Schools Part 1: The Role and Perspective of Charter School Authorizers," a new report from the National Charter School Resource Center (NCSRC), can help charter school authorizers achieve school improvement by helping recognize signs of distress in their schools.
"The charter sector works to provide high-quality educational options that meet the varied needs of students. However, some charter schools require support to better meet their students' needs. The findings from this new research can help stakeholders identify schools that are struggling and target appropriate resources or support," said Carter Clawson, NCSRC Director.
"Identifying Indicators of Distress in Charter Schools" is the product of extensive qualitative research and formal interviews with nine authorizers across policy contexts from a variety of authorizing entities. It labels and categorizes the indicators of distress that charter school authorizers regularly encounter as a school's quality begins to decline. The report can help assess quality and health and drive improvement in schools in distress.
