The Fresh Tri software supports behavior change and helps manage achievable, sustainable weight loss for patients
SILICON VALLEY, Calif., Nov. 1, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Fresh Tri®, a neuroscience-based digital health company, will showcase its neuroscience-based habit-formation software at The Obesity Society's ObesityWeek®, Nov. 1-4, in San Diego at booth No. 803. A poster presented at the conference will demonstrate how Fresh Tri's software and the Iterative Mindset Method™ supports long-lasting weight loss and behavior change, and improves long-term outcomes.
Fresh Tri's behavior-change software supports achievable and sustainable weight loss and habit formation by leveraging the Iterative Mindset Method, a novel practice-and-tweak approach. The customized program is powered by neuro-behavioral algorithms that assess an individual's psychology, specifically their anti-reward pathway, motivation, and track record of sustaining change. The software helps individuals discover daily health habits best aligned with their personality, lifestyle, needs, and capacity, and provides users with constantly refreshed suggestions based on engagement, progress, and milestones.
"Obesity is a complex disease that is increasingly being recognized and defined by neurobiological roots," said Casey Hughes, MA, MCHES, NBC-HWC, Vice President of Behavioral Design at Fresh Tri, and lead presenter. "Recent research reveals the critical role of the lateral habenula, the brain's anti-reward pathway, as a kill switch for motivation and behavior change. Our preliminary data, focused on a novel iteration-based neurobehavioral strategy and its concomitant inventory, shed new light on weight loss and maintenance."
The poster presentation, titled "A Neurobehavioral Model for Weight Loss and Maintenance, First Discovered in Vulnerable Populations," will showcase preliminary evidence from an observational study of more than 2,300 socioeconomically vulnerable adults who attempted to lose weight. The study found that individuals using the practice-and-iterate approach to change behavior were significantly more likely to maintain weight loss for over two years and less likely to experience relapse than those with more of a rigid, fixed approach. The poster will be presented on Nov. 3 at 11:45 a.m. Pacific Time.
"Through extensive research, we discovered that those who persist in lasting behavior change employ a novel mindset – a strong protective factor especially in vulnerable populations," said Kyra Bobinet, MD, MPH, Fresh Tri's Founder and CEO. "Our studies show that Fresh Tri's Iterative Mindset Method supports lasting weight loss, as it neutralizes the failure, shame, or guilt that often causes people to stop trying. Instead, patients who adopt an Iterative Mindset practice a behavior until it's a habit and iterate or adapt whenever they hit an impasse, thereby achieving lasting results and a perfect fit for their life."
Fresh Tri is customizable for clinicians, employers, and healthcare organizations seeking to support weight loss and metabolic conditions, as well as various other clinical healthy habit changes. It is also available for individuals in the Apple App Store and Google Play.
