New Survey From Virtual Vocations Reveals the Benefits Remote Employees Want, But Employers Aren't Offering
New survey results from Virtual Vocations reveal the employer-provided benefits most sought after by remote jobseekers and current working professionals.
TUSCON, Ariz., Sept. 1, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Remote workers largely view their health and wellness as paramount to their professional success. But months into the COVID-19 pandemic, are remote employers living up to expectations? New survey results from one of the web's leading remote job boards provide a glimpse into the answer.
Founded in 2007 by CEO Laura Spawn and CTO Adam Stevenson, Virtual Vocations connects jobseekers with legitimate remote job openings from tens of thousands of expert-vetted employers who value flexibility and independence in the workplace.
By taking steps to promote remote work, these businesses are already making a positive impact on their employees' well-beings. Of more than 980 remote jobseekers and current working professionals who responded to Virtual Vocations' 2020 Remote Health and Wellness Survey, 68.65% said working from home full-time would be less stressful than clocking in for an onsite job.
But the chance to work from home isn't the only benefit remote professionals are after. In a Monday report unveiling the results of their latest survey, Virtual Vocations breaks down the employer-provided wellness benefits most desired by remote jobseekers and employees alike.
"The days of ping-pong tables, onsite coffee bars, and nap rooms are gone," says Virtual Vocations CEO Laura Spawn, "and in their place are benefits that cater to a remote workforce."
Though just 5.65% of respondents to Virtual Vocations' survey said their current employers offer it, more than 40% named access to yoga, Pilates, and other exercise classes as their most desired employer-provided wellness benefit.
Other health and wellness benefits that remote professionals and jobseekers took an interest in included access to meditation sessions or apps, access to online support communities for remote employees, paid or discounted gym memberships, and discounted home meal delivery services.
Still, a whopping 72.09% of those polled by Virtual Vocations said their current employers offer none of those perks.
As the era of COVID-19 comes to a close, jobseekers and working professionals alike are excited at the prospect of being able to working remotely. According to Virtual Vocations, nearly 65% of respondents to its Health and Wellness Survey said they want to work from home every day after the pandemic. But for companies seeking to attract a highly qualified pool of applicants, it seems it's not enough to just offer a chance at flexibility; remote professionals are looking for employers that take a more holistic approach and prioritize their well-being both in and out of the workplace.
Virtual Vocations' Remote Health and Wellness survey polled Virtual Vocations members with a variety of professional backgrounds from July 15–22, 2020.
