Author demonstrates the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on family relationships
ASHLAND, Wis. , July 25, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ --Candidie's "Send Cardinals" is based on personal experiences during the COVID-19 lockdowns, when areas of the world have shut down or have limited public activity to reduce the spread of coronavirus. The book is compiled of four stories, with each story demonstrating a different perspective of multiple baby boomer couple's relationships and the hardships they endure due to the pandemic restrictions. Each story spotlights a different message and lessons that can be learned from real life experiences.
'The Family' describes a couple and their daily lives during the lockdown. 'Is it Hereditary' presents the changes to the daily lives of two parents, their son, his significant other and their baby. 'Dad's Kin' is a story about a couple dealing with their COVID-19 stricken father. The last story, named 'Two People,' shares the journey of a couple who ultimately decide to sell their home and move away with hopes of changing their lives.
"The lockdown restrictions that are placed have an effect on people's hope and well-being," Candidie says. "I would like to relay to readers that prayer works, choices matter and that they should never give up."
The four stories aim to help those who may have relatable experiences with the effects the pandemic has had on them. She hopes readers will have a deeper understanding of environmental effects and that having faith and perseverance can prevail.
