New book shares a blueprint for mentoring new lawyers to promote solid ethics and enhance civility
Author James H. Fierberg announces release of 'Mentoring Lawyers'
SCALY MOUNTAIN, N.C., Jan. 7, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- James H. Fierberg spent almost 40 years practicing law at the highest levels. In his new book, "Mentoring Lawyers: Finding Civility" (published by Archway Publishing), he provides a morality-based plan for the mindful mentoring of new lawyers and a moral and ethical refresher course for seasoned lawyers in an effort to elevate civility by prioritizing clients' needs over lawyers' inherent egos and biases.
"Mentoring Lawyers" shares anecdotes and wisdom from Fierberg's experience as a lawyer as well as the thousands of lawyers, clients and judges he has interacted with over the years. He explains that law schools cannot teach the interpersonal fundamentals and his book helps fill that gap.
Fierberg says, "This model of mindful mentoring will have the salutary impact of raising client satisfaction, genuine, morality based self-satisfaction, professional civility and hopefully, an increase in societal civility. Lawyers must understand and accept that in the first instance, what they do is not remotely about them."
