“Progressives in America 1900-2020: Liberals with Attitude!” By David Wagner

“I hope my book will stimulate a debate among these groups and will start a conversation that is aimed to make readers realize that the progressives throughout these periods have failed in their efforts and ended up being swallowed by the two dominant parties.”

The word “progressive” comes with many definitions. Author and activist, David Wagner was always so interested in the term and wanted to learn the true meaning of being progressive. When writing his newly released book, “Progressives in America 1900-2020: Liberals with Attitude!” Wagner wrote the book from an academic and political standpoint. He will captivate his readers by addressing the importance of progressives, the history of these individuals, how they originated and how they differ or are similar to other ideologies.

Wagner’s book analyzes three major periods in American history and how they are significant to progressives. Although at times claiming radicalism, Progressives have failed to alter the two-party dominance, and have most frequently come to resemble a militant liberalism rather than anything else. Readers will be entranced by Wagner’s words in light of the recent challenges of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren in the Democratic party.

“My new book should interest a variety of political groups such as radicals, liberals and conservatives,” said Wagner. “I hope my book will stimulate a debate among these groups and will start a conversation that is aimed to make readers realize that the progressives throughout these periods have failed in their efforts and ended up being swallowed by the two dominant parties.”

“Progressives in America 1900-2020” will educate many individuals on the true history, the failures that have occurred historically with Progressivism, and how if they are radicals, they tend to restate liberalism rather than anything new. The subject matter is very relevant in today’s society and will cultivate interest during the election year.
