On March 3rd, Veronafiere officially postponed Vinitaly, Enolitech and Sol&Agrifood to June 14-17, 2020. Event organizer Veronafiere took this decision in light of the current international situation and in order to ensure the highest possible standards for both exhibitors and visitors. For consistency, other Vinitaly-related gatherings have been moved too. Both OperaWine and VIA are part of the “Vinitaly Marathon”, a thirteen-day endurance run set up by Vinitaly International concomitantly with the biggest Italian wine fair in the world. The marathon usually starts with the VIA Italian Wine Ambassador course, a full immersion into Italian wine culture created for international wine professionals aimed at spreading the gospel of Italian wine through world class education.

On the day following the VIA exam, the baton passes to 5StarWines. On this occasion, a jury of highly qualified industry professionals and hundreds of wine bottles are gathered at wine2digital, Vinitaly International’s headquarters. 5StarWines is a three-day tasting and wine selection that turns the spotlight on all the wineries that invest in improving their products. This year, the

The final day of the selection, which is normally on a Friday, precedes OperaWine, Vinitaly’s Grand opening. OperaWine, Finest Italian Wines: 100 Great Producers selected by Wine Spectator, presents a selection of the top 100 Italian wines to the international public. The event’s main purpose is to shed light onto the diversity and high quality of Italian wine.

While OperaWine 2020 and the next edition of the VIA Italian Wine Ambassador Course have been postponed, 5StarWines has not been deferred and will take place on April 15 to 17.
