COLUMBUS, Ind., Oct. 17, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- John B. DeLap offers a collection of short essays that capture the author's life and his intimate relationship with nature in his debut book, "Frost Flowers: Thoughts and Observations from the Heartland" (published by Archway Publishing).
Centering on the theme of life in the heartland, the author's essays demonstrate how he was inspired to write by nature, his parents and grandfather, and growing up in the Midwest. DeLap ruminates on such things as: the stories a pair of boots could tell, walks in the woods, the sounds of nature, scattered bones, the BLT and more. The memories he made, and is still making, originally prompted the author to blog before collecting the various pieces into his first book.
"Frost Flowers" aims to "make people think about putting down the electronic encumbrances, walk out the door, and make memories … It reminds the reader that they live in a world not devoid of nature, but part of it. To step outside and take it all in is voyage of rediscovery - recapturing what was lost."
