Campbell, CA (PRWEB) August 14, 2013 -- Located in downtown Campbell, Academy of Fencing Masters will train fencers in epee and foil starting August 21. AFM trains the fencer with internationally recognized coaches and involves the family by creating a facility that all can enjoy.
As reported in the San Jose Mercury News, fencing has seen large increase in the number of participants, and Academy of Fencing Masters is here to help families pursue this new fencing passion.
Founded by Irina Chirashnya, Academy of Fencing Masters seeks to expand the community of fencers in Silicon Valley. “Our philosophy is to develop the whole person, not just the fencer. So much of the fencing philosophy and code can be applied to real life,” Chirashnya explained. “The discipline, agility, patience and stamina that are developed on the strip can help a person succeed at anything.”
“Being the mother of four children, who saw their father’s love of fencing, I knew we needed to develop a facility that caters both to families and to all level of fencers,” Chirashnya said. “Here at AFM, we spend a lot of time and energy on an athlete’s training, but we also strive to provide a better service to the families with free lectures on important fencing topics, periodic formal parent-coach conferences, various programs for parents, and a quiet office space with coffee and Wi-Fi to let busy parents work during the lesson.”
In addition to serving the family, Chirashnya has recruited two internationally known coaches, Alexandr and Natasha Maximovich, to develop the fencers. “Coaches Alexandr and Natasha are what really set us apart,” Chirashnya declared. “Our facilities are like no other in Silicon Valley, but our coaches mold champions and make it fun at the same time.”
Academy of Fencing Masters is currently accepting pre-registration for group lessons of all levels, private lessons, and club memberships for the August 21st opening.
