New Geriatric Depression Online CME Activity Launches August 21
Bethesda, Maryland (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- CME Outfitters (CMEO), a leading accredited provider in continuing medical education, recently opened registration for its upcoming neuroscienceCME Webcast Ask the Expert Q&A Mature Mood Matters: New and Emerging Developments in Geriatric Depression. This live activity will kick off August 21, 2013 at 1:30pm ET. CMEO’s live webcast features an interactive question and answer session with faculty member Charles F. Reynolds, III, MD. The educational content will focus on geriatric depression, specifically focusing on the following learning objectives:
• Apply guidance about potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs) from the updated Beers Criteria to their prescribing practices in older adults with geriatric depression and common comorbidities.
• Review DSM-5 revisions and their potential impact on the clinical management of geriatric depression, especially in terms of promoting measurement-based care.
• Increase the percentage of patients with geriatric depression who are reassessed using a quantitative assessment tool within three months of initiating treatment.
Physicians and other healthcare professionals who care for geriatric patients with depression are encouraged to register.
The American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry (AAGP) and CME Outfitters, LLC, conducted a satellite symposium entitled, Mature Mood Matters: New and Emerging Developments in Geriatric Depression at the AAGP Annual Meeting on March 15, 2013. This live, interactive symposium was captured on video and is available as a certified activity at http://www.neuroscienceCME.com/CM786 and http://www.aagponline.org. Because the opportunity to engage and connect with faculty is critical to physician learning, this follow up live Q&A Webcast has been scheduled to allow clinicians to “Ask the Expert” about content presented during the AAGP symposium. To enhance the learner experience, registrants are encouraged to view the archive of the AAGP symposium prior to participating in the live Q&A. During the Webcast, clinicians will be able to ask questions, discuss clinical case successes and challenges; and gain insight and practice pearls from Charles F. Reynolds, III, MD. Click on the links below that will take you to the symposium archive, and the registration page for the live Q&A.
