"It's crucial for modern businesses to understand the authenticity of conversations that impact their brand and their customers, and identify the online groups that are trying to undermine their brand integrity," said New Knowledge Founder and CEO Jonathon Morgan.

New Knowledge, the information integrity company, today announced $3M in funding from BuildGroup and Lux Capital. The investment follows the company’s $11M Series A round last year, led by GGV Capital, and brings New Knowledge’s total funding to $18M.

The investment will support New Knowledge’s rapid growth and the rollout of their new enterprise platform later this year, which will help companies detect, monitor, and mitigate social media manipulation. New Knowledge is dedicated to measuring the integrity of conversations on the internet for organizations that rely on the authenticity of those interactions. Over the past 24 months, the company has grown from 5 to over 50 employees.

“We are excited to partner with BuildGroup with this investment,” said New Knowledge Founder and CEO Jonathon Morgan. “We’re ready to scale our platform and bring our information integrity capabilities to a wider enterprise audience. It's crucial for modern businesses to understand the authenticity of conversations that impact their brand and their customers, and identify the online groups that are trying to undermine their brand integrity. New Knowledge is proud to work with companies that share our vision for a more authentic internet.”

BuildGroup is an Austin-based investment company focused on companies using data science and cloud services to radically alter existing industries. Founded by Lanham Napier and other former Rackspace executives, the firm is dedicated to supporting software companies with long-term permanent capital and expertise in growing market leading businesses.

“New Knowledge is precisely the type of company with a modern business model that we look to partner with,” said BuildGroup CEO Lanham Napier. “Their technology offers insight into how a brand is being discussed and potentially manipulated online, and we think provides the next generation of tools for companies to manage their brands and customer networks. Jonathon and his team are in precisely the right position to scale aggressively and have a major market impact.”

New Knowledge, which launched in 2015, garnered attention in 2016 as one of the first organizations outside of government to identify Russia’s campaign to influence the 2016 presidential election. They are deploying those solutions for businesses to help verify the authenticity of conversations about their brands, ensuring brand security as well as providing valuable social insights and analytics for the enterprise.

New Knowledge is currently hiring for ambitious talent in customer success, marketing, sales, and engineering.
