New Mobile PTZ Camera Designed for Harsh Environments and Rough Service
Kemp, TX (PRWEB) July 28, 2013 -- Rugged Cams recently released the Ruff-Ride Mobile PTZ, a new and improved infrared outdoor pan/tilt/zoom camera designed to withstand extreme weather conditions, including rain, cold and dusty environments. In addition, this outdoor PTZ camera is designed to operate on equipment that is prone to vibration and constant movement, such as cranes, construction equipment, machinery or vehicles.
The innovative design of the Ruff-Ride PTZ Camera begins with its tough outer case. This hermetically sealed case has an ingress protection (IP) rating of 67, which means that it is totally protected against intrusions by solid particles as small as individual dust grains. The IP67 rating also means that the camera is totally sealed and is completely waterproof.
In addition to being waterproof and dustproof, the Ruff-Ride PTZ Camera can also withstand extreme temperatures. This outdoor PTZ camera has internal heaters and fans that allow it to operate in temperatures as low as -50° below zero and as high as 160° F, and it includes a hidden windshield wiper to keep the long range lens free from rain, snow or ice.
The Ruff-Ride PTZ Camera has supplemental lighting on-board to help light up an area at night or in low light conditions. The lighting can be ordered in infrared or white light versions, and both have an effective range of 390'. The on-board lighting power levels can be turned up or down manually or can be set to automatically adjust the power based on the camera zoom level.
The Ruff-Ride Mobile PTZ Camera is equipped with a SONY 36X day/night zoom camera and also has 12X digital zoom that is automatically accessed when the optical zoom has maxed out.
This rugged outdoor weatherproof PTZ camera is designed to operate on 12V DC current, but can actually operate just fine anywhere from 9 volts up to 30 volts, perfect for mobile vehicles and equipment.
The Ruff-Ride PTZ Camera can be mounted in almost any position, even upside down. The on-screen menu allows a user to “Flip” the image to match the mounting style.
