WASHINGTON, Oct. 21, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) inaugurates Kimber White as President of NAMB at NAMB National 2020 conference, replacing past president Rocke Andrews, broker/owner of Lending Arizona. White, a partner at RE Financial Service, has been an active member of the mortgage industry for over 30 years and an active member of NAMB for the greater of the last decade.
"Kimber is a great force in the mortgage industry," said outgoing NAMB President Rocke Andrews. "His passion and determination are a huge asset to NAMB. As President, Kimber will bring a get-it-done energy that will accelerate the Association in its mission to represent the best interest of our broker community."
Along with the newly elected executive board, White took his oath of office via livestream at NAMB National 2020, normally the largest in-person conference for the mortgage broker community that pivoted to virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In a powerful speech, White kicked off NAMB National 2020 on Wednesday, October 14th with a compelling vision for NAMB and call-to-action of both NAMB members and the mortgage industry as a whole.
"I am honored and humbled to serve as the new President of NAMB," said NAMB President Kimber White. "As a gay, white gentleman taking the helm of the largest and oldest Association in our industry, it's a defining moment. NAMB is for all. White, black, gay, straight…from any street in America. When we come together at NAMB we can make our industry better, our businesses better, and help more dreams of homeownership come true."
White unveiled NAMB's 2021 strategic plan activating its NAMB for ALL mission, including new Fair Housing initiatives working with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac; NAMB University with 16-hour Loan Officer and Veteran Certifications and curriculum: partnering with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) to ensure schools have financial literacy programs, as well as new tools and marketing to help members grow their business, as well as proactive advocacy initiatives in Washington with NAMB's two lobbyists – a democrat and republican.
The newly appointed Board of Directors bring years of industry experience and knowledge, and are excited to usher in this new, progressive era for NAMB. The diverse Board will support White in the aforementioned initiatives, including LO Concierge (a NAMB member help desk that provides a direct connection to lenders for loan structuring, questions and escalation), as well as an intense membership drive to grow NAMB's voice in Washington and bring state-of-the-art services and tools to its members.
White closed out his speech with this parting ask, "My ask to you…get involved….bring on different…bring new thinking…bring new ideas…bring new minds. We serve all. We are NAMB for ALL."
