Space Centre Storage and David's Delivery have teamed up to offer Kelowna and the Central Okanagan a seamless and affordable moving and storage solution using a MI-BOX storage container.

The new cooperative between Space Centre Self Storage (SCS) and David's Delivery will help residents seamlessly load, move, store, and unload the contents of their home or place of business using a MI-BOX® storage container.
The new service has been designed to save time, money, and energy in offering clients both storage and moving services from reliable movers, says Yvonne Rogers, operations manager at Space Centre Storage, who has been working with David's Delivery owner David Hennes on the new service.
"We actually knew of David before and had been recommending him as a mover prior to our partnership. He is reliable and has the same kind of values as we do. David was looking for a bigger space for his business, and we had an office rental available at Space Centre Storage, and that evolved into our partnership," explains Rogers.
"It's a seamless arrangement, and there is an excellent crew of professional movers that are providing the moving service. This saves our clients energy and money in the long run and prevents damages from them having to move themselves or dealing with an unreliable mover."
The service works in a number of ways.
Clients can rent a MI-BOX® portable storage box from SCS to be delivered to their home or place of business, and then David's Delivery arrives to load their belongings into the unit.
After the container is filled, it is then picked up and placed onto a special truck to be delivered to SCS's climate-controlled storage facility or to their new location.
Once the client is ready for their contents to be delivered to their new location, the container is then placed on the truck, and David Delivery's crew unloads and places the contents in the client's new residence or business.
"The difference between having this service and doing it yourself is you don't have to load your items into a moving truck, then unload it into a self-storage unit, then re-load it into a truck, and unload again... Your storage and moving is offered all in one package," says Rogers.
Besides being convenient, the service also offers a safe and secure way to move and store items as all of SCS's MI-BOX® delivery trucks are equipped with a special level-lift system.
"I have used a MI-BOX® and it helps prevent damage, as items are securely stored, with little movement. The other great thing about a MI-BOX® is that everything stays level while it's being picked up. It prevents damage," says Rogers.
Not only is the service more economical than hiring a professional moving company to handle a relocation, it also helps those who need to make a last-minute move due to their home selling quickly or if a rental suddenly becomes available.
"We also have a good turn-around time. We can even offer same-day service and deliver the MI-BOX® right away," says Rogers.
The service is also helpful for those who are renting a furnished place while their house is being built, renovating their homes, or are looking to downsize.
"With the marketplace and some of the demographics here in Kelowna, where some people are moving from a house to condo, they are not interested in lifting couches and furniture. They also may want some of their items to be moved and some things put in storage," says Rogers.
