Karen (Taylor) Ritzer announces her return into the publishing scene with the release of “Poetically Speaking: Karen’s Rays of Thoughts and Observations on Life” (published by Archway Publishing), a volume of free verse that lyrically explores many subjects and emotions as she reflects on her personal experiences, others around her, and life itself.
In this second collection of poems, Ritzer reflects on diverse topics. These include the familiarity and trust that comes with a lasting love, times of indecision or strife, the darker side of the human mind, two friends who drifted apart, the insights gathered from the blessing of growing old, the dawn that creeps in again after a long night, the lessons learned during a card game, and so much more.
“I hope my poetry makes people relate to whatever has or is happening in their lives. To know that they are not alone in the vast world. We all can use some insight, and a laugh or two,” Ritzer says. She adds, “We are all in the same boat...just making the best waves we can...in different ways. I wrote them down, hoping to capture theirs and my trials and triumphs, and pass them on.”
When asked what she wants readers to take away from the book, Ritzer answers, “We can all accomplish anything we truly set our minds to, one way or another.
