New Report from DATIS Identifies Human Services Workforce Challenges and Strategic Solutions

DATIS recently surveyed over 400 executives from Health and Human Services organizations to explore current workforce trends.

DATIS HR Cloud, Inc. recently released their 2018 Executive Priorities Survey Report revealing the top workforce priorities for Health and Human Services (HHS) organizations. The top 3 priorities identified by HHS executives included recruiting and retention, employee engagement and satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.

More than 400 executives weighed in to share how their organization identifies challenges, develops strategies, implements solutions, and measures results in these three focus areas. DATIS compiled these responses to identify trends and explore insights into the inner workings of these organizations.

Key findings from the report include:

  • 75% of executives reported a positive impact on their ability to maintain regulatory compliance after implementing real-time reporting at their organizations.
  • Half of organizations cited an inability to offer competitive benefits and pay as the top cause of turnover, and the most popular solution is creating professional development opportunities.
  • 70% of organizations are enabling employees to provide feedback to help improve employee engagement.

Regarding the results of the Executive Priorities Survey Report, Erik Marsh, CEO of DATIS said, “It’s encouraging to see executives making these areas a priority. In the Human Services industry especially, there are unique challenges that arise, and what works in other industries doesn’t necessarily work for them. Budget constraints, and just a fundamentally different way of operating, requires Human Services organizations to think differently and develop more creative solutions to their challenges.”
