Irvine, CA (PRWEB) October 12, 2017 -- The bi-annual Patient Satisfaction Benchmark Report was released this month, which measures and analyzes patient satisfaction among primary care physicians, urgent care centers, and dentists. The data collected within this report shows that patients are much happier than what is expressed online about these healthcare industries, and also provides a benchmark for patient satisfaction that healthcare practices can compare to their own scores.
The Patient Satisfaction Benchmark Report utilizes a patient satisfaction survey conducted by the healthcare reputation management company, RepuGen, and includes detailed analysis of over 25,000 patients’ feedback that also utilizes industry-leading artificial intelligence to measure patient sentiment. This bi-annual report is designed to track patient satisfaction and sentiment trends, and offer it to medical practitioners and institutions as a benchmark they can use improve their performance.
Among the 3 reports compiled, only slight disparities in the data exist. The overall conclusion shows that a majority (88-96%) of patients are very satisfied with experiences at their physicians’ or dentists’ offices. The Net Promoter Score of the data even shows that over 80% of patients can become advocates of a medical practice, providing valuable referrals to even a struggling business.
This high overall patient satisfaction also exposes a major contradiction about what is typically visible on various review sites about healthcare professionals and institutions. Online reputation is one of the major factors in a patient’s decision to visit a particular doctor, dentist or urgent care center. Healthcare professionals need to work proactively to remove this discrepancy between patient satisfaction and online reviews.
“Through our software, we were surprised to find that most patients we surveyed were expressing very positive feedback,” says Ajay Prasad, CEO & Founder of RepuGen. “This seemed strange, as most doctors coming to us for help were seeing the opposite sentiment online.”
