New Town Connections Launches in the Tampa and St. Petersburg Area
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) January 07, 2016 -- A new social group called New Town Connections has launched in the Tampa and St. Petersburg area. This exclusive group gives people who have just moved to the area, or those simply looking to broaden their social circle, with a way to make meaningful connections with new people. Focusing on young professionals, members can meet like-minded individuals as well as try new activities and restaurants across the Tampa Bay area through scheduled social events.
Founder Andrew Machota, who moved to Tampa Bay in 2011 and who studied abroad during college, understood the struggle of finding people to connect with in a new town. After working for a CPA firm and later a recruiting agency, Machota left his corporate desk job to give young professionals a solution to making new friendships without the hassle of going to congested bars, large networking meetings, or awkward meetups.
“I meet young professionals every day who are new to the Bay Area but aren’t sure where to go to meet high-quality people,” says Machota. “By forming this exclusive social group with events that cater to those with many different interests, we can attract a variety of people, and help those who are new in town to make lifelong connections. Those who have lived in Tampa for a while and are looking to meet new people are encouraged to apply as well.”
What sets New Town Connections apart from many other social and networking groups in the area is that members must first apply and then undergo an interview, which is conducted over FaceTime or Skype. “Our screening process ensures that our events consist of individuals who are friendly, outgoing, and will enrich the social lives of our other members,” says Machota.
Examples of events for New Town Connections include socials at restaurants, happy hours, outdoor excursions, sporting events, and live shows. Most events are capped at 50 people and start later, so that it is easier for members to mingle with everyone present. Members can choose from four packages that provide different levels of access to events.
Machota and the entire leadership team, who hail from all over the globe, are hoping that through the success of New Town Connections in Tampa Bay, they can bring their business model to cities around the country and eventually the world.
