The new WORX® 20V Brushless Drill & Driver makes an ideal holiday gift for do-it-yourselfers looking to update their tool collections and add efficiency to home projects and repairs. The brushless motor of this hi-tech, yet affordable, drill & driver has electronically controlled power distribution, which increases battery run time over standard brushed motors.

Since carbon brushes have been eliminated, the new WORX 20V Brushless Drill & Driver is essentially maintenance-free. The 20V brushless drill & driver’s software control (smart chip) improves motor efficiency by precisely matching power usage to the resistance of the material being drilled or fastened.

Electronic control not only conserves battery power for longer run time, but also extends motor life by reducing friction, heat build-up and wear. Noise also is diminished. The 20V brushless drill & driver’s exceptional durability is backed by a WORX 10-yr. warranty.

The new WORX brushless drill & driver also features Pulse-assist, which helps loosen stubborn screws and prevents stripping of screw heads. Pulse-assist also helps keep drill bit tips from “walking” when starting holes on hard surfaces. To use Pulse-assist, the operator presses the on/off switch at the base of the handle. The bit then begins a slow, controlled rotation with intermittent thrusts. A green indicator light stays on while Pulse-assist is activated.

The brushless drill & driver handles a full range of everyday home projects and repairs, such as installing brackets for drapery or blinds, drilling holes for drywall anchors, attaching cabinet hardware or bathroom fixtures, replacing door sets and hinges and assembling furniture. It also has plenty of torque to tackle bigger carpentry and repair jobs like installing decking and fence panels, building storage racks and sheds, hanging drywall and replacing stairs and railings.

The brushless drill & driver features a two-speed gearbox with no-load speeds of 0-430 and 0-1600 rpm. Its clutch has 15+1 positions to adjust torque settings. Maximum torque is 354 in.-lbs. The cordless tool’s drilling capacity is1-3/4 in. in wood and 1/2 in. in steel.

Weighing only 2.9 lbs. (with battery), the compact drill & driver is easy to handle and maneuver in confined spaces. A rubber overmold grip improves comfort and control. The 1/2 in. keyless chuck allows fast bit changes. A built-in LED light illuminates the work area when the trigger is pressed and incorporates a low-battery indicator.

The brushless drill & driver is powered by a 20V, 1.5 Ah, MAXLithium battery that delivers long-lasting performance up to 18 months per charge without self-discharge or memory effect. Battery charging time is up to 5 hrs and the charger has a built-in charge level indicator. The 20V batteries are part of the WORX Power Share program and compatible with other DIY and lawn and garden tools.

The WORX 20V Brushless Drill & Driver with battery and charger (WX174L, $99.99) is available at http://www.worx.com and other online retailers, including Amazon and Walmart.
