Newest Lucy's Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant Now Open in Downtown OWA Over $6,400 raised for local nonprofits at two VIP Friends and Family Events
New Orleans-based hospitality group, Kirkendoll Management, officially opened its fifth Lucy's restaurant in OWA, Foley Alabama's newest entertainment destination, on February 8, 2020. The grand opening was preceded by two VIP dining events benefiting local nonprofits.
NEW ORLEANS, March 6, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Lucy's Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant is now open in Foley, Alabama's newest entertainment destination, OWA, as of Saturday, February 8, 2020, following two days of VIP dining events benefiting local nonprofits. This marks the fifth Lucy's restaurant including four on the Gulf Coast and one in Aruba, currently open for the New Orleans-based hospitality group, Kirkendoll Management.
Redefining the casual dining experience, Lucy's mission is to be a destination for guests to enjoy delicious food and killer drinks while making unforgettable memories with its coastal-inspired menu, creative cocktails and laid-back beach vibe. Under the direction of General Manager Jessica Lowther and Chef James Knowles, Lucy's OWA now serves lunch and dinner seven days a week, and includes daily happy hour specials and weekend brunch. Guests can also enjoy live music by favored local musicians on select days throughout the week.
Focal points of the new 7,254-square-foot eatery include a surfboard-shaped header gliding over the main bar, an exterior Sailboat Bar overlooking Lake OWA, and tiki-hut tables in the main dining room. Additionally, you can find retired surfboards from around the world throughout the restaurant and a life-sized shark replica at the front entrance. The expansive restaurant also boasts 2,839-square-feet of outside dining and 563-square-feet of retail space.
Curious diners were able to preview Lucy's OWA while enjoying a complimentary meal during two VIP Friends and Family Events benefiting The Stray Love Foundation on Thursday, February 6, and Mary's Shelter Gulf Coast (MSGC) on Friday, February 7. The reservation-only events welcomed more than 620 guests over the course of two days. In lieu of payment, guests were encouraged to support the daily nonprofit which resulted in a combined total of $6,448 raised for the local organizations.
