Newman Garrison + Partners Selected to Work Alongside Cusumano Group in High Profile New Multi-family Project in Burbank
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) October 06, 2017 -- Newman Garrison + Partners, an award-winning architectural firm located in the greater Los Angeles area, has been selected by Cusumano Real Estate Group to work on Olive Stations, the first multi-family TOD project to enter Burbank’s industrial area, and one of the first apartment developments to be built in the city in over 15 years.
With this new endeavor, Newman Garrison + Partners aims to present millennials working in the San Fernando Valley with a unique residential opportunity that is walking distance to the train stop as well as San Fernando Boulevard’s multiple shopping and dining destinations. Comprised of 327 units, the complex will offer studios, one- and two-bedrooms, along with a few three- and four-bedrooms, in order to provide more affordable shared-housing options. The luxury property will include both market rate and affordable housing units. The Olive Stations common spaces will also feature retail stores, organic grocery offerings, terrace amenities, outdoor movie theatre, bocce ball course, as well as a state-of-the-art fitness center, club/lounge area with game room, private wine room and media center for entertaining and activities. In addition, a resort-style pool and spa with cabanas, outdoor dining/BBQ areas and fire pits will provide the ultimate in luxury living and convenience.
“It is an honor to have been trusted with the opportunity to work on this enticing project of developing a property that has been owned by the Cusumano family since the 1970’s. We look forward to seeing this collaboration develop as we move through this innovative venture," says Michael Cusumano.
While Burbank’s industrial area has up until now been predominantly occupied by car dealerships, metal fabrication, and flooring companies, Nickelodeon’s recent move to the area, which employs roughly 700 employees, resulted in an incentive to start revitalizing the property. As a nod to Burbank’s past and history, the industrial contemporary look of the site will be reflected in the architecture and design of the space, and will include elements that are reminiscent of Burbank’s history, such as Joseph Fawkes’s 1910 vision of the experimental monorail. The project is slated to open by 2021.
