Sarah Alter will step down as CEO in 2023
CHICAGO, Dec. 15, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Sarah Alter, CEO and President of NextUp (formerly Network of Executive Women), has announced she will be stepping down from her role in early 2023. Alter will remain CEO until her successor is appointed and will oversee the leadership transition process with the Executive Committee.
"It has been an honor and a privilege to lead this great organization as CEO," said Alter. "As difficult as this decision was, I know I will be leaving this amazing organization in highly capable hands. I am excited about where we are going, all that we've accomplished together, the communities we have positively impact, and the work that NextUp continues to do. Until my successor has transitioned in, I will remain active in my role and commitment to NextUp. I want our organization and partners to know that I will be there every step of the way as we continue to Advance All Women in business."
Alter joined NextUp in 2017, and has wide-ranging executive leadership experience in the markets NextUp represents. She has successfully expanded the scope of NextUp's mission to include Advancing All Women, and has grown NextUp to over 17,000 members representing 21 regions and over 300 national corporate partners and regional sponsors, all working together to transform our workplaces.
Over 50% of NextUp's national corporate sponsors are on the Fortune or Global 500, and Sarah has built NextUp into an organization that spans industries from tech, to finance, to retail and CPG. Additionally, she has focused NextUp on supporting women of color, building male allyship, the new generation coming into our workforce, and, more recently, how COVID-19 has impacted women in the workplace.
"Sarah has been and will continue to be an asset to NextUp," said Tamiko Olabintan, COO of NextUp. Throughout the duration of her servant leadership within our organization, we've accomplished the unimaginable. I look forward to working alongside Sarah for the duration of her time with NextUp as we continue to work towards our mission."
