NFL Player Dominique Easley Hosts Kids' Skills Camp: Raises Awareness for Fibromyalgia
Providence, RI (PRWEB) June 23, 2015 -- Integrative medicine clinic Centers for Integrative Medicine and Healing (CIMH) will partner with Dominique Easley of the New England Patriots to educate and generate awareness on Fibromyalgia – and an all-natural effective treatment of the disease at the upcoming Champs Camp, a football camp geared towards children. Easley’s personal investment in treating the disease is spurred by his younger sister Destinee who at the age of 12 was diagnosed with the illness, prompting Easley to found Easley's Awareness as part of his personal crusade to help raise awareness and funding for research for a cure.
While over five million Americans suffer from Fibromyalgia, the illness can be hard to spot in children. Even so, one out of every six Fibromyalgia sufferers is a child (1), prompting Easley and CIMH to raise awareness by providing screenings at the Champs Camp. Champs Camp, taught by Easley, will be held for children ages six through 17 and will teach offensive and defensive skills. It will take place on Sunday, July 25 at Hormel Stadium (on Locust St in Medford, MA). Participants will compete in NFL combine style drills designed to increase speed, agility and stamina.
During the camp, doctors from CIMH will be on site to perform free health screenings for children and their mothers, distribute health and prevention handouts and administer free Acupuncture tests. Portions of the proceeds from Champs Camp will go to Fibromyalgia research.
