NEW YORK, Jan. 19, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- NFP, a leading insurance broker and consultant that provides property and casualty (P&C), corporate benefits, retirement, and individual solutions, today announced it has earned a 5-Star Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Award from Insurance Business magazine. With a score of 4.7 out of 5.0, NFP is one of only nine insurance companies/brokers to receive this distinction.
The inaugural DEI Awards recognize and celebrate companies in the insurance industry demonstrating effective DEI programs that help foster change and promote a culture in which individuals of all backgrounds and levels within the organization feel supported.
"This recognition from Insurance Business reflects how our employees have embraced and enhanced our diverse, equitable and inclusive culture at NFP," said Doug Hammond, chairman and CEO of NFP. "We're proud to receive the 5-Star award and are more motivated than ever to actively foster an environment of belonging that elevates our employees, clients and communities."
According to the magazine, the workforces of this year's top insurance employers are 60% female, and more than 20% of their employees identify as minorities by race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or disability.
"Earning the 5-Star DEI Award says so much about NFP, our priorities and what sets us apart from other companies," said NFP's chief Diversity and Inclusion officer, Pamela Wheeler. "Being a people-first company means being committed to continuing efforts that foster systemic and cultural changes to advance diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in our workplace. We want to support and continually refine a culture that we're proud of by always welcoming and empowering people with diverse capabilities, experiences and perspectives."
The DEI Award's nomination process included two phases: an employer form (phase one) and an employee survey (phase two). Following the close of phase one, nominated companies received an employee survey for their employees to complete. To receive the 5-Star Award, companies had to receive a score of 4.5 or greater.
The ranking and profiles of the recognized companies were unveiled January 18 in Insurance Business's e-newsletters to subscribers and in a new section on their website.
