Experienced leader to bring executive level strategic direction and alignment to NFP's sales organization
NEW YORK, Nov. 10, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- NFP, a leading property and casualty broker, benefits consultant, wealth manager and retirement advisor, announced today that it has appointed Mike James as chief sales officer. James will be responsible for providing high-level strategic direction to drive the entire NFP sales organization and continue to serve in a leadership role across the company's life business. James, whose tenure with the company spans more than 16 years, will collaborate across the company with regional, platform, sales leaders and producers to align NFP's sales strategy and execution and elevate results.
"The chief sales officer role is critical to the next phase of NFP's growth," said Doug Hammond, chairman and CEO, NFP. "Mike is an exceptional leader with deep knowledge of our industry and strong relationships across NFP. I'm confident that Mike will evolve our sales organization, enhance our competitive edge and increase our market share, revenue and brand awareness."
In appointing James, NFP is seizing an opportunity to better align the company's diverse business lines and geographic presence, and the complexity that comes with it. James, who will continue to report to Ed O'Malley, EVP, head of Insurance Brokerage and Consulting, will aim to expand opportunities with existing clients through integrated sales initiatives that leverage NFP's capabilities across regions, business lines and solutions.
"Mike has the unique ability to motivate people to think bigger and work together," said O'Malley. "Under his leadership, and as we expand further across North America and in Europe, we are excited to see his impact on the evolution of our sales organization that redefines success for NFP."
James joined NFP in 2006 and throughout his tenure he has played an instrumental role in aligning the organization's business with its vision and culture. Prior to NFP, he spent more than 14 years with John Hancock Financial Services where he helped build a thriving relationship between John Hancock and NFP.
James actively participates in a variety of industry and community organizations, serving on the executive committee of the Finseca (formerly AALU/GAMA) board of directors, as well as the board of trustees for Suffolk University and The American College of Financial Services. He is an engaged supporter of Nationwide's Financial Alliance for Racial Equity, the No Book No Ball Basketball Program and the Roxbury YMCA in Massachusetts. James recently joined the board of LL Global, the nonprofit parent company of industry organizations LIMRA and LOMA and received the Corporate Leader Award from the National African American Insurance Association.
