SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Feb. 19, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- US Sports Camps Inc., operators of NIKE Junior Golf Camps, announced the addition of NIKE Advanced Junior Golf Camp in Lake Tahoe, CA for tournament-level golfers. The new overnight camp curriculum is designed to help competitive golfers lower their scores and become more confident in a tournament setting.
Leading the camp are three Division I college coaches; Marc Chandonnet (Seattle University Head Coach), Andrew Larkin (UCLA Assistant Coach) and Evan Emerick (San Diego State University Assistant Coach). Other college coaches and players will be on staff to assist in instruction and supervision.
Campers and staff stay in condominiums at Northstar Resort, a Vail Resorts property. The Northstar Golf Course and practice range are used during the camp week. Two of the scheduled days are spent at Old Greenwood Golf Course (Jack Nicklaus design) and Gray's Crossing Golf Course (Peter Jacobsen design) for instruction, lunch and course play. In addition to golf, campers have an opportunity to take advantage of other activities around Lake Tahoe including mini golf, a trip to the beach and more.

Marc Chandonnet, head coach of Seattle University men's and women's golf teams, has worked numerous NIKE Junior Golf Camps and other junior programs over the years. His SU teams have collected 39 total WAC All-Academic Team honorees, four Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars and twelve WGCA All-American Scholars, as well as a GCAA President's Special Recognition Award and a WGCA All-Scholar Team award. Prior to his tenure at Seattle U., Marc coached at Southwestern Oklahoma State and Grand Canyon University, his alma mater.

The NIKE Advanced Junior Golf Camp, Lake Tahoe runs from Sunday, June 14th through Thursday, June 18th, 2020 and is open to boys and girls ages 12 – 18. Each day consists of morning instruction covering putting, chipping, pitching, full swing and specialty shots. Following a brief lunch break, campers head to the course for 18 holes of supervised course play. The camp staff advises on shot selection and course management. Discussion sessions on tournament preparation, mental toughness and golf nutrition/fitness are slated for evening hours and/or during meals. The camp tuition is $1,945 per player.
