The Nike Cross Country Camp at UC Santa Cruz announces the dates for 2020, July 16-19. UC Santa Cruz offers world-class facilities and scenery.
SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Feb. 27, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Nike Cross Country Camp at UC Santa Cruz will be led by Camp Director and Head Coach, David Klech, who states, "We welcome campers to spend a week of fun training on our campus. We invite you to see what it takes to become a collegiate athlete, to assess your current skill level, and ask questions from current student-athletes about their collegiate experiences. Our goal is that runners will build on their own understanding of running, learn successful habits that will improve their running economy, and learn strength assets to help with training."
Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, campers train on beautiful trails with gorgeous vistas, surrounded by majestic redwoods. They stay in the campus dorms and eat in the dining hall. Campers will explore different training philosophies, speed work, injury prevention, and strength & conditioning training. Sessions will include different dynamic warm-ups working on postural integrity, muscle activation and recruitment, technical form analysis, cool downs, and function strength training for distance runners.
The co-ed camp offers overnight and day camp options for ages 12-18 of all ability levels. It is geared towards those with the desire to train smarter, work hard, and have fun.
