The Nike Running Camp at Huntington University provides young athletes an opportunity to learn from some of the best college and professional runners in the country, while enjoying a beautiful campus that is a XC runner paradise.

Head Cross Country Coach Nick Johnson will be directing the Nike XC Camp at Huntington University this summer along with his staff and players.

Campers will learn elite training and recovery techniques from one of the fastest women in the world, Lauren Johnson (1:59 - 800m, 4:25 - Mile), along with some of the top college athletes in the country, including 2019 NAIA XC National Champion Hannah Stoffel, and numerous other All-American athletes.

Coaches Nick and Lauren Johnson have planned an amazing few days of great XC training. “The Nike Running Camp at Huntington University provides young athletes an opportunity to learn from some of the best college and professional runners in the country, while enjoying a beautiful campus that is a XC runner paradise. Miles of grass & gravel trails await the camp attendees. Be prepared to learn a lot and to have a lot of fun along the way!”, says Coach Johnson.

At camp, fundamentals, form analysis, and race strategy are all reviewed, prepping the runners for their XC season. Breakout topics include general strength, nutrition, recovery strategies, and mental imagery, which offer a comprehensive package of educational material to better inform XC athletes.

The camp runs July 9-11, 2020 and is open to runners, ages 12-18, interested in getting better while training during the summertime.

The 2020 camp is coed, all abilities. Runners are grouped for their runs based on average pace and fitness. Campers can choose overnight or commuter options.
