Nikomed to Introduce the World's First 100% Recyclable Medical Lead Wire Solution at FIME 2019
Nikomed USA Inc. ("Nikomed"), a leading provider of disposable cardiology and surgical products to the healthcare industry, will debut its patent-pending BioWire™ System at the Florida International Medical Expo (FIME 2019), June 26-28, at the Miami Beach Convention Centre, Booth #C68.
HATBORO, Pa., May 23, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The world's first non-metal disposable and universal lead wire system, BioWire is a cost effective, ecologically friendly printed disposable lead wire. Unlike metal disposable leads, BioWire System is made using a printed conductive silver ink.

BioWire provides significant advantages over traditional disposable leads. First and foremost is its recyclability. Many healthcare institutions using metal leads are confronted with the challenge of disposal, as the material cannot be recycled. Such is not the case with Biowire. Constructed with polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and a silver ink, it is designated as a recyclable material. Applicability is another advantage. BioWire easily adapts to most monitoring equipment and all ECG electrodes. Adding to its list of advantages, Biowire's ribbon-like design allows for writing or applying a label on the wiring itself for patient and test identification. Now in the final stages of development, Nikomed expects to begin filling orders in the last quarter of 2019.

In addition to the introduction of Biowire, Nikomed will be featuring several other new solutions at FIME this year. These include the Vivolight Vein Finder, Vistar Medical disposable blood pressure cuff & device, innovative MMA Mouthguard Airway, and MESI advanced Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) testing solution that can be accomplished in 60 seconds.
Nikomed has an established history in the medical products field that dates back more than 30 years and across two generations of Epstein leadership.
