Through his writing, Franks gives voice to the men and women who lived through key moments in American history, but also the days in between. His historical fiction work documents the JFK assassination, the struggles of political correctness, young love and coming of age.

Guy Franks was born in Minnesota but grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is married with two children and four grandchildren. A writer most of his life, he is the author of three historical fiction novels Beggar King, Railhead, and A Midsummer Madness. He and his wife currently live in Oregon.
