NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 10, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- A ribbon cutting ceremony February 10th at 11:00am will kick off the Grand Opening Event and Sale for NOLA Boards flagship location at 4228 Magazine Street in New Orleans. Owner Mandy Simpson and business partner/husband Daren Sumrow will be joined by New Orleans Chamber representatives Sandra Lindquist, Ashley Hilsman and Pamela Otibu. Mindful of the current times, masking and social distancing will be observed.
Giving back to the community is a core principle for Mandy and Daren so during their Grand Opening Event, 15% of all sales will be donated to the Krewe of Red Beans, a local non-profit with a mission of "feeding the second line".
"As part of the 4-day Event, NOLA Boards is offering Grand Opening specials including 20% off all cutting boards and free shipping of online orders over $100 through February 14th," said Simpson. Local artisans whose products are carried in the store will join them for demonstrations and presentations.
On Wednesday, Café Nola Pop Up will serve signature coffee all day.
Friday, February 12th activities include free NOLA Boards Fleur De Lis ornaments for the first 40 customers, Café Nola Pop Up, "Meet the Woodworkers" and cutting board care demonstration, and from 1-3pm Signature King Cake cocktail samples by Cocktail & Sons.
Saturday, February 13th will include cutting board care demonstrations, 11am-1pm pickup of pre-ordered Fromage King Cakes in collaboration with Cheeseboard Social, 2-5pm Lagniappe Baking Co. Pop Up with pastry boxes, 1-3pm Signature cocktail samples by El Guapo bitters. A special feature will be artist Maria Boudreaux who will work on a live painting throughout the day which, upon completion, will be raffled off benefiting the Krewe of Red Beans.
"Creating an interactive and educational space for our unique wood offerings as well as crafted items of other local artisans grew into this new 1,800 square foot location," said Simpson. The NOLA BOARDS product line includes custom hand-crafted cutting boards, countertops and dining furniture. Hours of operation are 10am-6pm Monday-Saturday, Sunday 11am-6pm. Their new website recently launched at http://www.nolaboards.com.
NOLA Boards is 100% woman owned and certified. The future for NOLA Boards holds expansion to other cities in the southern region.
