SAN FRANCISCO, March 8, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Future Youth Records https://www.futureyouthrecords.org/, a nonprofit record label dedicated to helping Generation Z musicians create and distribute music promoting social justice, has released its latest album, Think Women, on International Women's Day, March 8, 2021. This compilation celebrates female empowerment themes and features five tracks (available to stream here as well as leading music platforms http://bit.ly/ThinkWomenFYR) selected as part of a global songwriting contest, written and performed by young women from around the world.
Future Youth Records invites musicians aged 16-24 from around the world to enter quarterly songwriting contests, each with a different social justice theme, and juried by top music industry professionals. The label then works with the selected artists to provide additional production, career mentoring, and distribution services. The artists maintain ownership of their copyrights and recordings. Think Women entrants were invited to submit their original songs with a female empowerment theme, which were then selected by a panel of notable music industry luminaries, including Founder and CEO of Reverb.com, David Kalt; CEO of Berklee Online, Debbie Cavalier; legendary producer Jack Douglas (John Lennon, Aerosmith, Miles Davis, The Who, Patti Smith); singer/songwriter Jonatha Brooke; The Go-Go's' Kathy Valentine; and COO of School of Rock, Stacey Ryan. Winners were then given the chance to record the songs they wrote with world-renowned producers like Dr. Fink (Prince), Matty Jacobson, and Maxwell Fink, as well as veteran recording engineer Willie Samuels (Green Day, The Influents).
"I am deeply moved and inspired by what these five young women wrote and performed for our Think Women album," said Jason Wall, Founder of Future Youth Records. "My heart smiles every time I listen, and I tear up when I imagine how many lives will be positively impacted because of their music."
Think Women features the following songs and artists:
- "Because You're a Girl" by Sarah Tomlinson (Ontario, Canada)
- "Girl Stand Up" by Capri Everitt (British Columbia, Canada)
- "Confident" by Jessa Pontier (Pennsylvania, USA)
- "We're Beautiful" by Tehillah (United Kingdom)
- "Self Taught" by OPA (United Kingdom)
Tracks are available to stream beginning today, International Women's Day, on select music platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music. More information about Future Youth Records and future album releases is available here: https://www.futureyouthrecords.org/.
