NORMAN, Okla., June 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Norman Mitsubishi, a dealership serving Oklahoma City and the surrounding area, has now donated two vehicles to The Dragonfly Home, an organization that assists victims of human trafficking by transporting them to safe places. In many cases, the victims need to be moved hundreds, or even thousands, of miles to get away from danger and to access the services they need.
It makes sense, then, that quality vehicles are needed for this process. Norman Mitsubishi first donated to The Dragonfly Home in February 2017. Since then, need for the organization's services unfortunately continued to increase in the Oklahoma City area. Recognizing this, the dealership donated a second vehicle.
"Trafficking is heartbreaking and we want to help The Dragonfly Home attack it any way we can by providing anything they need," reads a quote on a dedicated page of the Norman Mitsubishi website.
In addition to stepping in to fill the need for a second vehicle, Chris Mayes, the owner of Norman Mitsubishi, and Andy Elliott, the general manager, have pledged to service the vehicles donated at no charge in order to "keep them on the road to save lives daily." This effort is sure to go a long way towards helping victims get away from danger to places where they can access life-saving, life-changing services.
In addition to providing transportation to get individuals to shelter within Oklahoma and throughout the country, The Dragonfly Home helps victims set up appointments with service providers such as doctors, counselors and attorneys. From April to June of 2018, the organization provided 1,250 miles of transportation for human trafficking victims.
"We are truly so thankful to Chris and Andy for their incredible donations," said Whitney Anderson, co-founder and executive director of The Dragonfly Home. "A second vehicle means we can help even more people, which is crucial because the need for services for survivors of human trafficking in Oklahoma City is growing on a daily basis."
Those with questions or inquiries about the dealership's charity work are encouraged to contact Norman Mitsubishi by heading to its website, giving the staff a call at 405-701-5175, or stopping by the dealership location at 2505 West Main Street, Norman.
