The acquisition follows a seven-month transition period, with ownership officially transferring in March 2026. Significant operational upgrades, equipment improvements, and production system enhancements have already been implemented as part of the transition.
Based in Tijuana, Mexico, Apex Laminates manufactures traditional 7-ply hard rock maple skateboard decks for brands across North America. Production utilizes North American maple veneers and USA-made Franklin industrial adhesives, with manufacturing structured under the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA) to allow tariff-free import into the United States and Canada.
The factory's proximity to the U.S. border allows finished decks to clear customs and ship through San Diego, California as domestic freight, simplifying logistics and reducing transit times for U.S. skateboard companies.
