Northern Virginia Community College Partners with FlexProfessionals, for the "R2: Retool & Return Program" to Support STEM Professionals Returning to the Workforce

ANNANDALE, Va., Jan. 23, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) and FlexProfessionals have partnered to offer a new, first-of-its-kind program in the northern Virginia region to get critically needed skilled workers to return to the workforce.

The partnership will focus on supporting individuals who want to re-enter the workforce in the fields of data analytics and cloud computing. The R2: Retool & Return Program combines NOVA's tech training in cloud computing and data analytics with FlexProfessionals' job-search readiness training and support. Students are able to enroll in NOVA courses while accessing professional readiness workshops, one-on-one resume reviews, and mock interview support from FlexProfessionals, free of charge.

The fields of data analytics and cloud computing are rapidly growing, especially in the northern Virginia region. According to the data analyst firm, Burning Glass, data analysis skills were requested in 19,000 job advertisements in northern Virginia alone in 2019. The demand for data analysis skills is projected to grow 21.5% over the next 10 years. Additionally, cloud computing skills are in high-demand and projected to grow 14.7% over the next 10 years.
