Northramp announces the launch of its new SaaS platform, GovernSpot, focused on improving group governance activities and administration. GovernSpot enables organizations to manage groups and associated members, meetings, group topics, voting, announcements, and more.

Organizations with multiple distributed, remote, or teleworking board, committee, or working group members often use a variety of inefficient mechanisms for coordination, ranging from email and spreadsheets to simple SharePoint® sites. This approach is traditionally administratively burdensome, inhibits group participation, and often lacks any real tools beyond file management and comment threads.

With GovernSpot, all group information is centralized in a single place, enabling group members to more easily engage at any time, not just during meetings. Each group member also possesses a customized dashboard that aggregates all upcoming meetings, actions items, and activities across all groups they’re part of. With remote and telework activities accelerating, GovernSpot supports implementing group member engagement as an ongoing process, not an event.

Additionally, with group administration streamlined, organizations are free to leverage more and different groups to address narrower issues and opportunities with little to no extra effort. As Chris Knox, Executive Director at the Childress Klein YMCA in Charlotte, NC stated, “with GovernSpot, we’re making it easier for our board members to engage with us and focus on what matters.”

“We really saw a big gap in the market,” states Patrick Chapman, Managing Director at Northramp, adding, “at the lower end a lot of products are focused on things like event calendars and taking money from members - at the higher end, per user pricing really makes wider use prohibitive for organizations.” To address this, GovernSpot uses a tiered pricing model starting with a forever free account for one group and 15 members. Each tier allows for more groups with a much larger member count than other platforms with similar features. “Other services can charge as much as $450 a month for what we provide on our free tier.”
