EICHSTATT, Germany, Aug. 6, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Growing up in the Islamic Republic of Iran, author Sajjad Yazdanpanah felt that he was not free to express himself and his thoughts were held captive — until he became a Christian. From this experience, he pens a novel depicting life under a totalitarian government and religion.
"The Truth Is Just One Color" (published by Xlibris UK) follows Arash, a young journalist, who feels the frustration of living in a restrictive society such as Iran. He is open in his thinking but finds hindrances wherever he turns, since the others are closed-minded. Where will his desire for truth lead him?
Through the book, Yazdanpanah portrays the tension between a repressive government and the people who long for personal freedom. It also explains the difficulties of trying to explore Christianity since there is no freedom or tolerance to change from Islam. Further, the book describes the problems a new Christian faces when they try to meet with other believers in an underground church due to the harsh regulations and consequences of being discovered.
"The book draws from the experiences of several individuals to build a more complete picture, which would not have been possible had I restricted myself to my own experiences," Yazdanpanah says. "I would like readers to not only better understand the present situation in Iran, but also understand why some have chosen to leave the conditions of their homeland. I would like readers to understand the problems of minority Christian groups in repressive countries."
