REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Oct. 20, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- "A Key to Treason" (published by AuthorHouse in June 2000) tells the fictional story of a young man's journey through life, his resistance against the Nazis, and his struggle to do the right thing in the face of a forcible and cruel occupation. The screenplay for this book was recently completed by Lawrence Koster and is available for video production companies to examine. It also gained positive book reviews from Kirkus, Blue Ink, and Clarion.
The author created the pen name Marvern Wallace by combining her name, Marjorie Wallace, and her husband's name, Vernon Wallace. Their daughter, Anne Peterson, is launching a new marketing campaign for "A Key to Treason," which was inspired by Vernon Wallace's firsthand recollections as a rank and file soldier who experienced the horrors of World War II.
Thaddius Gohr is selected to enter the fictional country of Einland's military academy and becomes best friends with the crown prince. When the prince ascends to the throne, he promotes Thad to a position of power, which makes Thad responsible for trying to protect the country's treasury from Nazi looters. With the key to the treasury in his hands, Thad bends the law to protect Einland's economy, which raises the question for readers: what would they do if they were thrown into such harrowing circumstances?
"There is plenty of tyranny and corruption to deal with in today's society that needs to be resisted by everyone who values liberty," Wallace says. "The novel presents examples of how ordinary people can rise to oppose tyranny. In this age of terrorism, that is valuable."
"A Key to Treason" illustrates the desperation and self-sacrifice of ordinary people who are determined to make a difference and protect their country. Wallace hopes readers will see how any person is capable of performing heroic acts in order to protect their country when placed in dire circumstances. About the Author
Marjorie Wallace grew up in the Midwest. She married Vernon Wallace in 1943. He was sent to Europe as a soldier in World War II shortly after their wedding. He earned a Purple Star during his service in the U.S. Army. Upon his return, she became inspired to write a fictional story about resistance to the Nazis. Her experiences working as a precinct worker and poll watcher during the 1950s and 1960s in Chicago also inspired her to write a story about resisting corruption in government. She worked on the manuscript for many years and finally published it in 1999. She died in 2012, and her only daughter, Anne Peterson, inherited the publishing rights to the book.
