About the Author:
Francois van Wyk was born at Dullstroom, South Africa on April 16, 1934. He matriculated in 1952 and later studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Back in South Africa, he joined the National Theatre Company. Through part time study, he obtained a BSc degree from the University of Pretoria, majoring in Math and Physics. He finally found his niche when he joined the Afrikaans Radio Service of the South African Broadcasting Corporation and retired in 1997. Accompanied by his wife Trui, they traveled all over the world. In 2005, he sat down to write “When Cultures Intertwine – The African Way.”
