GRIMSBY, Ontario and NEW HOLLAND, Pa., April 1, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Modular Building Institute presented their awards at the 36th annual World of Modular convention held in Las Vegas on March 18, 2019. The MBI Awards of Distinction competition showcases the industry's most advanced and innovative commercial building projects.
NRB was the winner of the coveted "Judges Choice" and "Best of Show" awards as well as First Place in the Green Building – Greatest Renovation for Adi Development Group – Valera Sales Center. The stunning sales office was built a few years ago for another development, Stationwest, then relocated last year and renovated to suit the new Valera development design. The sales pavilion was a previous winner of 3 AOD awards in 2017. This same building has now won a total of 5 awards, a first in MBI history.
The Cassa DiTorre Sales Center for Branthaven Homes captured an Honorable Mention in the Relocatable Modular Retail category.
Together with our partner, Axis Construction Corporation, NRB was awarded "Best of Show" as well as First Place in the Permanent Modular Healthcare over 10,000 sq. ft. category for the Gotham Health – Vanderbilt Family Health Clinic. The 20,000 sq. ft. non-combustible steel and concrete facility was constructed as a 2-story building inside our plant and then shipped to the Staten Island site where it was assembled in 6 days. The full service ambulatory center has achieved a LEED silver rating.
NRB and our partner, Triumph Modular, won First Place in the Relocatable Modular Retail category for the Northeastern University Leasing Office.
Rounding out our awards were two Honorable Mentions for our Sisters of Charity Dormitory in the Permanent Modular Dormitory category and the Moon Island Firing Range in the Permanent Modular Office category. We share this award with our partner Vanguard Modular Building Systems LLC.
