NuCurrent Named 2015 Chicago Innovation Awards Finalist
Chicago (PRWEB) September 23, 2015 -- NuCurrent, a leader in wireless power antenna technology, announces the company has been named a finalist for the 2015 Chicago Innovation Awards. The awards celebrate the most innovative new products and services in the Chicago region across all organization sizes, sectors and industries. Winners for each of the Chicago Innovation Awards categories will be announced at a gala event on October 27 at Harris Theater in Chicago. This is the second consecutive year NuCurrent has been named a Top 100 finalist.
Now in its 14th year, the Chicago Innovation Awards brings together Chicago’s business and civic leaders to recognize the most innovative new products and services introduced in the market. This year’s program attracted 535 nominees, which has been narrowed down to the Top 100 Finalists. All finalists are selected by a panel of accomplished judges representing a balanced portfolio of Chicago area companies. Each of the Top 100 Finalists is also in the running for the annual “People’s Choice Award,” selected through public online voting from September 17 - October 9 at http://www.chicagoinnovationawards.com.
“We are thrilled and honored to again be selected as a finalist for this prestigious award,” said Jacob Babcock, CEO, NuCurrent. “As wireless charging continues to change the way that people interact with electronic devices, major handset, automotive and furniture companies continue to turn to NuCurrent antennas because they enable the slimmest and fastest charging in the world.”
NuCurrent was recently named a finalist for two 2015 Illinois Technology Association (ITA) CityLIGHTS Awards, which honors companies and individuals whose innovation and success drive growth in the technology industry and in Illinois. NuCurrent was also named to the 2015 Crain’s Chicago Business Eureka Index, which identifies Chicago's most proficient producers of patents, based on headcount. After being awarded 14 patents in 2014, NuCurrent was named No. 1 on the index with the highest per-capita output of any Chicago-area company. The company was also listed in the top 10 percent overall in patent quality score, which considers the uniqueness of the invention covered by a patent and other important factors.
