NutraScience Labs "Wraps Up" 6th Annual Holiday Season Fundraiser; Donates 7,948 Pounds of Goods to Island Harvest

FARMINGDALE, N.Y., Jan. 9, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- NutraScience Labs, an award-winning provider of vitamin and supplement contract manufacturing services, announced that its staff collected 7,948 pounds of goods and non-perishable items for Long Island families in need during the holiday season.

The donated items, ranging from bottled water, canned food, and baby products, were picked up by Island Harvest, Long Island's largest hunger-relief organization, and distributed across its vast network of 570 food pantries, soup kitchens, and other community outreach centers just before Christmas. This was the sixth consecutive year that NutraScience Labs had partnered with Island Harvest. Since 2014, NutraScience Labs' employees have donated an estimated 13,000 pounds of items.

Founded in 1992 by Linda Breitstone, the mission of Island Harvest is to end hunger and reduce food waste on Long Island. According to its website, Island Harvest has served over 300,000 people and delivered 130 million pounds of food, supplementing 108 million meals.
