NYMBUS Appoints Scott Sharp as Chief Operating Officer
Miami, FLORIDA (PRWEB) February 09, 2016 -- NYMBUS, the world’s first complete, full-stack core banking system, today announced the appointment of Scott Sharp as the company’s chief operating officer (COO). With more than twenty years of community banking software experience, Sharp will spearhead all efforts to provide the necessary core infrastructure to community banks and credit unions, giving them a competitive advantage against larger financial institutions.
Fully equipped with an abundance of knowledge in emerging banking technologies, information security and impeccable team leadership skills, Sharp’s keen awareness of the banking industry derives from his passion for niche markets and solution-based problem solving. With his finger on the pulse of cutting-edge software, Sharp specializes in information technology, information security and infrastructure solutions.
"We are very pleased to welcome Scott to our team,” said NYMBUS’ CEO Alex Lopatine. “With an impressive background and track record in the community banking industry, I am confident that he will effectively contribute to bringing forth the core solution that small and mid-sized FIs are looking for.”
Part of Scott’s day-to-day responsibilities will be to oversee the software design to round out NYMBUS’ product line, ensuring the platform continues to cover everything small to medium FIs need to operate effectively and efficiently.
“The team here at NYMBUS shares the same vision I have, which is to produce a solid, modern product for community banks and credit unions,” Sharp said. “NYMBUS has a firm grasp on the future of the financial industry, and I’m excited to move forward with them and produce solutions that eliminate burdens presented by legacy core systems. I am proud to join the 'Rebel Alliance’.”
Before joining the NYMBUS team, Sharp wore many hats within his family-owned banks and banking software company, Sharp BancSystems (SBS), including CEO and president. While serving as CEO, Scott simultaneously designed an augmented product line infrastructure based on the market demand and competition to fit niche areas in the industry. Additionally, Sharp served as vice president of information technology and security for First Baird BancShares, where his efforts resulted in a 574 percent increase in annual revenue, a 375 percent increase in clients and a $145 Million increase in total assets over a span of just five years.
Sharp holds multiple certifications across the board, including Information Systems Security Management Professional, Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator and more. He also sits on multiple boards, including each of the three community banks under First Baird BancShares, and has previously served as part of the leadership division of Independent Bankers Association of Texas and the Discover Issuer Advisory Council.
