OCD Tech Announces DFARS Compliance Line of Service
Braintree, MA (PRWEB) June 21, 2016 -- Today OCD Tech, a Division of O’Connor & Drew, P.C., announced a new line of service to help Department of Defense contractors comply with the IT security requirements in the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement 225.204-7012. The updated supplement requires DoD contractors to become compliant with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-171.
Michael Hammond, Director of IT Audit & Security at OCD Tech said, “Many organizations are struggling with how to assess the requirements in SP800-171. The DoD has issued very little in the way of guidance. We believe this is a space where we can help bring clarity. We are experts in assessing organizations against NIST SP800-53 and the 171 framework is a distillation of 53.”
Regarding OCD Tech’s approach to DFARS, Hammond continued, “We are actively assisting clients with DFARS. We’ve built proprietary templates and tools to plug-and-play with the requirements. As a firm we have years of experience in the government space and we see this service line as a natural extension of that.”
The firm is currently engaged providing DFARS assistance to clients. Nick DeLena, Senior IT Audit Manager commented, “This service isn’t a hypothetical. We are in the field actively providing this service to our DoD contractor clients. It’s a battle-tested service. Companies needing assistance with their DFARS compliance should call us today.”
