OhioHealth Welcomes New Foot and Ankle Specialist
Columbus, OH (PRWEB) November 26, 2013 -- Dr. Kristin Burton will join Foot and Ankle Specialists of Central Ohio to provide comprehensive care of foot and ankle disorders to patients of all ages. She will see new patients in the Gahanna, Newark and Pataskala offices.
Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Kristin Burton grew up as a competitive gymnast and continued to coach girl's gymnastics and cheerleading through college.
“I experienced many foot and ankle sprains as a gymnast, and as coach, many of my athletes suffered from foot and ankle injuries,” she said. “This sparked my interest in Podiatry.”
Dr. Burton attended The Ohio State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in 2006, then went on to graduate from The Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in 2010. Dr. Burton completed a three year surgical residency training program at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio where she was trained extensively in all areas of podiatric medicine and surgery. She is excited to offer medical and surgical treatment for all kinds of foot and ankle disorders to patients here in Columbus.
“Anything from warts to ankle fractures, from ingrown toenails to flat feet, from stress fractures to diabetic foot ulcers,” she said. “I see it all.”
She says her goal in treating foot and ankle injuries is to get people back on their feet again and doing the activities they want to be doing.
“My approach to patients is individualizing their care, listening to their story and building the best treatment plan for their specific needs,” she said. “Everyone's needs and response to treatment is different.”
